
ABRIDGED PROFILE OF PROFESSOR N. GLADSON NWOKAH AS PROFESSOR OF STRATEGIC AND INTERNET MARKETING, RIVERS STATE UNIVERSITY

Prof. N. Gladson Nwokah hails from Rumuoro Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Government of Rivers State.
He began his primary education in 1979, completing it with a distinction in 1985. He earned his Senior School Certificate in 1992 and gained admission that same year to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (now RSU) to study Business Administration (Marketing) , graduating in with a Second Class Upper Division .
He completed his NYSC as a lecturer in theDepartment of Business Administration and Management. He earned his MBA and later his PhD in Marketing with a focus on Strategic Marketing from RSU.
He also holds an MSc in Electronic Marketing from Oxford Brookes University Business School, UK, where he earned a distinction in Research Methods. He has additional certifications in ICT and computer training.
His research interests include Strategic Marketing, Electronic Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship.
His work bridges traditional and digital marketing with a focus on technology-driven competitiveness.
Prof. Nwokah redefined the concept of Marketing Information Systems (MIS) by proposing frameworks that align with modern strategies.
His research on Strategic Market Orientation and Business Performance in Nigerian Food and Beverage Firms revealed a negative relationship, challenging global assumptions and offering new insights in strategic marketing.
He began as Executive Director of the Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce (2001–2003), and joined RSU in 2003 as Assistant Lecturer, rising to Professor of Strategic and Internet Marketing in 2018.
He delivered the university’s 59th Inaugural Lecture , and was recognized in 2009 for his impactful publications. By 2023, he was the top-ranked researcher at RSU by the AD Scientific Index.
As Head of Department (Marketing) , he organized its first International Marketing Conference. As Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, he established key academic units including the RSU Business School.
He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and his high H-index scores across Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science highlight his global academic influence.
He has contributed to national and international universities through lectures, seminars, and collaborative research.
