Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi
Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi is the 12th Vice-Chancellor (9th Substantive Vice-Chancellor) of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt. With nearly 28 years of teaching experience, over 100 publications, and more than 60 doctoral graduates supervised, he brings transformative academic and administrative leadership to RSU.

Selected from 15 candidates, he scored over 90% in an interview conducted by the Joint Council-Senate Selection Committee. The Visitor and Governor of Rivers State approved his appointment in accordance with RSU Law No. 4, 2017.
His appointment took effect from Thursday, March 6, 2025.

As Director of ICT, introduced smart boardrooms, a "team-service line" structure, and led the move from manual to electronic result processing — earning a national ICT4D Award for advancing ICT in education.
Student Affairs
As Dean of Student Affairs, oversaw two new hostels, introduced electronic voting for student-union elections, established new SUG and NURSS secretariats, and set up a Dialogue Centre that has kept major student unrest at bay.
Academic Innovation
Introduced year-by-year mentoring that produced the first first-class graduates in the Department of Office & Information Management in many years. Launched the CIPMtalks professional-body lecture series for students.
University Orator
The university's longest-serving Orator, having read citations for 71 of 109 inaugural lecturers. His event innovations attracted a Professorial Chair in Marketing (2016) and a multi-million-naira sports-equipment donation (2022).
